![]() | Glenys loves seeing the icicles that had formed through the night hanging from the eaves. She was amazed at how much like crystal they were and just as delicate. I was actually disappointed to see how small they are because they are usually much larger. Up until now the only icicles she had seen were in her freezer when it was overdue for a good defrost. |
![]() | Tradition say's that you haven't been in a New England winter until you have roasted marshmallows over an open fire. So...I decided to gather a bit of dry branches from the woods and show Glenys how it is done. What you don't see here is Glenys catching her marshmallow on fire and waving the flaming thing around like fireball from a catapult. I did roast a few for her just so she could have a real taste of winter. |
![]() | The first night Glenys was here, Mother Nature decided that the snow we had was getting dirty and laid a fresh 4 inch thick carpet of new snow out. There were many oooooo and aaahhhhs from Glenys as she saw saw the world with newly fallen snow but was wondering how we were going to drive anywhere once she saw the car. The oooooo and aaahhhhs changed to ohhhhh's as I handed her a brush and said we will have to clean it off before we can go anywhere. |
![]() | A brush would never do to clear out the driveway. Thankfully I have "Big Red" to help with that task. Glenys also found that the work after the beauty of a snowfall doesn't just stop with the car...while I snowblowed the driveway clear she found out about the joy of shoveling snow from the stairs and back deck. She didn't complain much really..but did mention looking to see when the next flight back to the tropics was. |
