Bumbler in Paradise

Here is the start of the day in Australia and it is also where we being our story again. The first pages were devoted to Glenys' trip to America and these are about how I went to visit her. The first thing I saw when I was getting ready to land in Australia was a sunrise very similar to this one. It was a bright lovely sunrise and promised a whole new world. I have to say that everything I saw in Australia was as wonderful and lovely as this. Especially Glenys.

One of the first things that was arranged for my visit was a chanc e to meet some of the people I have come to call friends in Brisbane. About 20 of us got together for a wonderful meal at Valentino's restaurant at Brown's Plains. I also got my first lesson about what happens when you invite Aussies to an all you can eat buffet.....they eat!!! It was a great time and it was really super to meet all the people I have talked with for so long. And the best part of all was that I had the prettiest lady in the place on my arm. Especially since I hadn't seen her in 7 months.

We had also planned on having a barbie so that all the people that couldn't come to Valentino's would have a chance to meet me. Actually, I think they came for the food. This picture is of Glenys and I standing clear as "Pyro Girl" (Kay) got the the barbie plate going. I was actually beginning to enjoy the celebrity status by then. I loved being there and I especially loved seeing how different the culture was from what it is in America. I can tell you that I have been to many barbies but this one was particularly special. Oh...hehehehe...later after we had all eaten we indulged in a round of good old fashioned wrist wrestling.....hahahahah guess who won.

Glenys & I were still celebrating our reunion weeks after I arrived. One night in particular, we found a few bottles of good bourbon and a couple of friends. Needless to say that combination led to a small party. Although I don't think either of us remember much about what we did, we know we must have had a good time and Glenys' kids sure did decorating us with pegs while we slept so heavily we didn't even feel them. I think there were also some comments made about snoring in sync....but I think they were just imagining things.
